American Studies is a course that combines the study of US History and American Literature. As a combined course, there are 2 sets of standards to cover and much to do. Over the course of the year you will read literature from some of the best American writers to determine why they wrote what they did, when they did. You will also study the historical events which helped to shape our nation.
